hey! i’m erik, or piney. if you follow me, you’re probably aware that lifes been very rough for me financial-wise recently. some circumstances have made things worse recently. if you don’t know me, here’s a recap:

i live with my partner charles (that’s us up there). charles and i are both transmasc + neurodivergent; i’m black and charles is native (apache) + white. i recently quit my food service job because i was too mentally ill for that type of work, and have been unemployed/freelancing since late may.

charles works nearly full time, and has really been helping me get through this unstable period. two or so days ago, charles had a really bad episode and was in a lot of mental pain, and went to go see his doctor. he was told to go to the ER for a psych eval and is currently in the hospital waiting for a room to open up in any of the facilities in the area

it’s estimated he’ll be in the facility for a few days to a week, we’re not sure, so he won’t be able to work for that time and possibly an undetermined time after. and he’s still waiting to even be moved to that facility right now.

so, the numbers: our rent is 830-ish between us (not counting bills) and right now i have $60 to my name + he has somewhere from $450-550. we’ve got half a month to go through + a possibility of medical bills. so that’s. not good.

i’m trying as hard as i can to land a job, but with the end of the month incoming, i’m not sure if i got a job today if i’d have enough money in time for rent, especially if it doesn’t pay weekly (like my last job didn’t) or i don’t start work immediately. we are both trying to get help from our respective families, but the prospect of all our costs being covered by them is slim
