Time to yell about ys8 (yet) again

So how exactly sadist is Mother Gaia(Maia) to set up a world system like

When a Guide of Evolution is picked out from their species, they have to watch their entire species die out

which is pretty bad because the picked peep is usually the most determined, the most adamant to get their species to survive(I mean look at Dana what the fuck)

and if/when they fall into despair, their drive to survive(as well as their species’s) become sealed within the tree, so they pretty much are obliged to accept their fate

So you have a bunch of Guides who are continually in a state of apathy and despair who tell you ‘nope there’s no way you can live’ as well as seeing shadows of themselves in the new Guide who’s also trying to get their own species to survive

So how sadist is Maia and how much does she deserve a punch to the face????
