Alright y’all, I’m starting to see the signs of another Ophiuchus outbreak so I’m here to once again debunk the rumors about NASA or whatever adding a thirteenth zodiac sign.
This story circulates every few years and it’s not changing your sign, don’t worry.
The western astrological tradition (Aries, Taurus, Gemini etc) adheres to the tropical zodiac aka it is all centered around the Earth’s seasons. It’s a geocentric practice regarding the position of the sun against the Earth’s horizon. The 12 signs will never change in the western zodiac because it’s not based on the constellations’ movements at all.
Sidereal tradition on the other hand DOES adhere to the constellations’ movement, and those shift slightly every few centuries I believe. I know very little about sidereal and eastern astrology, but if anything were to change, it’d be in those practices.
