As for Papyrus he’s gonna be ‘baby, yet-to-develop Papyrus soul transplanted into a monster body because when undeveloped, human and monster souls are similar’
Which means Papyrus can be stronger than Sans if he develops his potential

Alright so
I based this on a post here(maybe? I forgot) about the seven children falling in in different time periods, and the title of that ‘Sans is human’ video on YouTube(I haven’t viewed that so I’m not sure whether my ideas overlap with those in it).
I mean, ribbons and swords can still be related to how men dress up their sons in ye olden times.
And I’m assuming here there are multiple holes to the Underground, since falling directly into Hotland would be much more convenient for Gaster, I guess.
Anyway onto the point.
What if Sans, as a human and Papyrus as his baby brother was taken to Mount Ebott for some sort of family picnic(y’know, the ones the old time peeps do where they hunt game and picnic and so on) and they fell in together
And meeting Gaster who just went along and named them after the fonts(or rather, the fonts being named after them because later on Gaster gets gaster-blastered and the names he made up lodged into our brains prompting us to call our fonts like that)
Sans was the prototype for the real human-monster transplant aka Papyrus, that’s why he can’t really grow tall afterwards. Also why Alphys tried implanting DETERMINATION into monsters because Gaster’s notes mentioned soul-mind transplantation was possible.
