Know what’s real fucked? Every other age group has the correct aged actors representing them except teenagers. Adults play adults – children play children; but teenagers are played by more adults. Why? Because apparently our body changes from puberty are too ugly for TV. So what happens? We go through those years looking at the perfect “teenagers” and wondering why we don’t look like that.

I think it’s rather the unstable growing stage that matters.
I mean, TV dramas and so on can take at least months to prepare. A few months can make a teenager change a LOT, as compared to adults that don’t exactly ‘grow’ anymore.
Will you accept that a particular teen character had a sudden voice change in what would be days in a plot? Probably not.
They’re trying to appeal to the audience, really.
